Essentials for insulating glass: energy saving, durability and seal life.
Insulating glass must meet two basic requirements: energy saving and durability and sealing life. If the energy-saving effect of an insulating glass is poor, even if the durability and sealing life are long, it is still a low-grade insulating glass. On the contrary, if the energy saving performance of insulating glass is good, but the durability and sealing life are short, it is not what people are pursuing. Obviously, the ideal insulating glass should have the best energy-saving effect and the longest sealing durability at the same time.
The main factors affecting the energy-saving performance of insulating glass are: glass, spacers (frames) and gases. In terms of glass, choose white glass or low-emissivity glass, cold edge (aluminum spacer) or warm edge in spacer, air or inert gas such as argon in gas. Under other conditions unchanged, the energy-saving effect of insulating glass with white glass, air and cold edge is the worst, while the energy-saving effect of insulating glass with low-emissivity glass, argon-filled interior and warm edge is the highest .
The main factors affecting the durability and sealing life of insulating glass are: insulating glass sealant, sealing structure, spacers, desiccant (molecular sieve), and the quality of manual operation. It has been proved that the sealing life of insulating glass with double seal, continuous spacer and 3A molecular sieve is the longest, while the sealing life of insulating glass with single seal, four-sided gusseted aluminum spacer and 4A molecular sieve is shorter. This is also confirmed by the 20-year tracking results of the North American Insulating Glass Association on the actual use of insulating glass. In addition, the results of the accelerated aging test of insulating glass (P1 test) show that the expected sea
